Details, details, details...
Class was productive today. It should be that way everyday until the show is over. And then, if you're lucky, you go on internship! Wow! Remember to print out and give your actors the scene lists. Also, email it to Justin and Tim Secrest, Mr. H, Mr. D and Mr. Moore. To respond to some comments from last night's blog... There is always a time in the rehearsal process when things get sloggy. (Sloppy + Foggy = Sloggy). It usually comes around the time the blocking is done or almost done, tech week seems far away, lines are mostly learned, and the newness of the group has worn off and people start to get on each other's nerves. You have entered the sloggy phase. How will you get out of it?

Yeah today was so good. The Penntonian article is really good. I don't think me and Luke have worked that diligently on anything before.
ReplyDeleteHooray work? but seriously Mac and I wrote a pretty sweet pentonian article.
ReplyDeleteAnd at practice, I heard that the fishbowl group is almost done with or already done with blocking, so I guess we're about to enter the sloggy phase. Looking forward to it.
We got a bunch of the fish done and figured out how to actually mount it onto Andrews body! Always a plus.
ReplyDeleteWe will whip the young'uns into shape! There shall be no slogginess tolerated!

ReplyDeleteSidenote: Mike you would put that......
ReplyDeleteI believe we should have the power to give points! I can't think of any other solutions.
I disagree with Gardineer: if we gave out points that would just make the actors despise us. Remember we're only so many years older than them, imagine getting talked down upon by one of your peers...exactly. The best thing to do is keep on them. Make sure they realize we are a team striving toward a common goal (producing a great play/plays). This technique is mainly applied in sports but motivating nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteyea no points...thats stupid
