Kenny your actors are ready and are getting too comfortable...so they are slipping! They need to keep focused and striving for perfection. This is both a good and bad thing. Good-natured because you prepared them well and worked them hard.

This goes for all of you. Make sure your actors keep pushing for the end not shooting for the present... place inspirational quote here.

Bed tomorrow! Fish bowl head board looks absolutely amazing.

  2. YES to mac's comment
and I find it funny that aside from me adding handles to the platforms (which i might not even do because i just thought of a way my crew can assemble it without needing handles)Kenny's set is also done thank you Kenny for being so easy

the roof needs to be painted and assembled and the door also needs to be painted

Ms. Houston I was wondering if during senior seminar i could snag a couple of the people who don't really do anything and get them to help me paint.

  3. Mac I dig that saying
i apologize for not blogging, I've been very busy and sick and tired and it slipped my mind.
i had a fun productive day with my actors but I'm am so stoked for the run thru

Justin the set looks great, its everything I imagined in my designs and more!

Mr. Moore and Mr. D thanks for the after chat today, super helpful advice was given! :)

  4. Justin - Yes you can. Make sure you clean up, though cause we have 20 billion MS for tech during 5th period tomorrow.

If you are checking this blog, then you are passing the course for quarter 4 and that means that this class will not be the one that prevents you from going on internship. Congratulations!

Inspirational quote (author unknown): "Every job is a self portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence."

As Mr. Moore said, this time period is critical. Push your actors, explore more, find nuances to their characters, attend to technical details, tweak your blocking, listen for articulation, remember the story you want to tell. DEMAND PERFECTION.

    Now, here's my inspirational speech:
Between all of you, you have dedicated approximately 72 YEARS to Pennington Drama. That is absolutely incredible. How will you leave your mark? How will this show play out? It is up to you. I'm feeling a lack of attention from some of you that is pulling those who are attending to a lot of details from where they ought to end up. The sad part is, those people will never read this.

If you are reading this, take what I say seriously. I have dedicated a portion of my career to making sure you got here in fine form. And I want your work to reflect the genius artists that I think you are.

  5. Just saying, Costume Crew went to Red white and Blue today, and got a whole bunch of clothes. Please send in the rest of your actors to talk about costumes...the GOLDFISH IS EPIC...btw.

What I've seen of the shows has really impressed me. The actors do slip up sometimes, but I feel that they are really coming into their roles.

  6. Your welcome Justin, and thank you for putting together the platform in such a timely matter. When you left, received rave reviews from the cast. like this is amazing! Where is he going to school? How did he put this together? On another note I have emailed my actors Mr. Moore and Mr. DiGiacomo's critiques I agree with them, and I will step up the demand on them.

  7. Ms. Houston being a former Art-O-Rama (ie, ist, ologist?) I almost crying thinking about how well you have prepared us from Middle school to now and I think you have done all that you could have possibly done. :) Thanks.

I fixed the lunch table girls so it wasn't so awkward and staged now they all have purpose and the conversation is more casual. Also McKenna is MUCH better at not staring down who ever is talking. She is acting in the background, reacting. She's doing awesome!

Erin and Chan have homework to continually go over the punch in the tummy... it's getting there. Also their reactions are getting much better they just need to not be so caught up in the fighting and remember to react and...well...ACT!

    JUSTIN TAKE ME!!!!!

  8. Ok I re-read that and it's out of context.... I would like to help paint and that is what I am referring to....

  9. Amber........smh......anyway......

I'll work with chan and Erin during the day because I ave alt of classes with them. I don't know how willing they at going to be during the school day... But WE DEMAND PERFECTION ;)

  10. O, JD! Yes, we do indeed Demand Perfection! I am glad to hear that the lunch room section was worked on to be less weird-y! Thanks Amber!

How did Killing Time go today?! Besides the lunchroom thing, what else was worked on?! Sorry I'm not going to be there, ugh!

finishing quote: "for the present is a gift, which in German means poison, so look forward without being clouded by the facts of today with the dreams of tomorrow." - ok, that sounded a lot better in my mind...but, yea.

  11. I think a lot of teamwork is kicking in from directors, and we are yielding better results. The show just keeps getting better and better as we fine tune each scene and enhance each scene with detail. Also, each cast member is really coming into their own. It's really exciting to be a part of.

p.s. I cannot wait for the set to come in! Everything I've seen looks absolutely amazing!

  12. Ms. Houston, those words were truly inspirational, and I am glad to be the recipient of even some of your words of wisdom from your lifetime of experience.

I am getting exponentially more excited (and equally more nervous) as we approach tech week and dress rehearsals. Everything looks like it is really great, and just needs polishing. I look forward to seeing the pieces fall together, and seeing our collective vision carried on the very capable shoulders of our actors and actresses.

  15. I am just about done with collection sound related things for Fish Bowl, but do any of the other groups need me to do anything for there sound? If so just let me know and I'll bring in my Zoom. (recorder)

Even just seeing the window frames and other set peices go up today in the black box was exciting. The sets looking terrific so do the costumes, and of course the props. I love the way the plays are coming together.

  17. I agree 150% Mr. Moore! Kenny your doing a great job but I think a big part of the problem is that if one person fools around and doesn't give 150% effort, it is contagious. It affects others in the same way. Therefore, it makes the show less exciting. Be agressive but nice!
