Look at things with a wider scope!

Everyone is focusing on a micro level instead of the big picture.

Ask yourself, can I actually run through my play?

Big picture.

Update the props list. Read and communicate. Go through and figure out what you need. Be reasonable.

Positive renforcement with your actors. Focus on this. Be PUMPED!

  6. I'm definitely going to make a conscious effort to stay upbeat with the actors tomorrow. It's a stressful time for all of us, but I think if we all stay positive, the end product will be much more worthwhile.

  7. positive reinforcement is definitely a big thing!!!
Don't mean to preach here but at my camp there was a sailing counselor who was a really goos sailor and was constantly yelling at this one girl and had no idea that she was homesick, later on when he found out he spent allot of time trying to help her in a more positive way and it really paid off

PS is there anyone who could help one of my actors learn to give a good scream? Mr Alford? Amber?

I'm starting to get a little stressed but i have faith in us. i <3 Tech Week

  8. Tomorrow during class im going to take those who do nothing in class (most people) and have them finish painting the door so that it will be ready for rehearsal tomorrow... O and I am done with general lighting and color so if there are any overhead specials that you need and have yet to talk to me about, talk to me tomorrow (be prepared, im not going to be happy about it) :)

  11. Yes.

The brochure is going to be grossly long. For it to be grossly long I need everyone to send me their overworded crap. Thanks.

  12. I concur. Right now we need to give the actors positive energy, that way they know that we have confidence in them which will make them want to perform to their best abilities! That is something that, I know, personally I need to point out more!!!

I think people know what they are doing, they just need to get more excited about it...so that is what I am going to try to do during rehearsals, get their motivation rolling!

@ Houston - I read your last comment, and I agree...and we are feeling the pressures of the show coming, we do need to get are stuff together! That is a key priority for me!

@ Eli - please bring in the VGA cord! Thanks.

  13. We need positive energy, and maybe just energy in general. Maybe some reminding that this isn't an activity, it's a play.

Here’s a song about jellyman kelly,
    He loves jelly the most.
    Ah, but most of all,
Jellyman kelly loves jelly on toast.

And here’s the part about jenny mulhenny,
    She’s a fireman’s daughter.
    Yeah, but most of all,
Jenny mulhenny loves to boil hot water

Jenny put the kettle on, jellyman kelly,
Can he come home, jenny, can he come?
Jenny put the kettle on, jellyman kelly,
Can he come home, jenny, can he come?

    Chorus:
Oh, can he come home, jenny,
Can he come home, jenny can he come?
Oh, can he come home, jenny
Can he come home, jenny, can he come?

quite the fun tongue twister/song. Look it up on youtube

  14. So I'm brining in the VGA cable for tomorrow Claire, I'm emotionally ready for the play to show and finish. It's easy to get cranky when a show wraps up with all of the stress and pressure, but its equally easy to get totally emerged and enthralled in the process. What Mr. Digiacomo said yesterday about positive reenforcement to minor actors, to keep them positive about there role in the play has been on my mind alot. It is essential for all actors and techies and everyone involved in the process to know how important they are, because this is OUR accumulative play. I love how the actors have shaped, changed and improved my vision of the play this is an exciting last couple of weeks. I'll be trying to focus on the excitement rather than the stress these next couple of days, like Mr. Moore and Digiacomo said, this in so many ways is our last bang in Pennington, and I want to leave on a good note.
