Shmacting.

Solid. Next week is going to be a whole new level of intensity. Hopefully you are both physically (props, costumes, DVDs, , movies, etc.) and mentally.

  1. schmacting: a form of stage and vocal presence that is an insubstantial substitute for acting.

    I think that's the definition.

Mr. Moore I think you forgot the word "ready" or "prepared."

Allison.... picturing you saying that is gold.
When I get back I want to start calling people in the put on their costumes (even if it's their own clothes). It helps to see who has what and if things look awkward etc. Also I will run the outfits by the directors.

The next step is to start having them practice in their costumes.

  3. Actors respect directors with mustaches.

Things are looking fantastic, I just wish for once we could just have our whole cast, to you know, have THEM run through the play--meaning no Eli, Eriks + Jackie reading lines and covering parts. Having Steph gone for the last couple of days has been a real wrench in the works. That being said, I am thrilled however with the attention and effort of the actors who have been attending. Great wonderful things could be said about Jared's work ethic and attention to directors notes, even when he's not in a scene (which is almost never) he is running his lines either by himself or with another actor, if I had 20 Jareds I could put on the tightest play ever.
I look forward to what we will have to work with next week as far as set and other things go, as Mr. Moore was saying, I think running with videos and showing the actors would be a great step at this point of the process just to further familiarize the cast with the entire play.

  4. ^^This is Eli speaking, I accidentally posted that last comment on Justin's account so, yeah. Although, techies respect tech-masters with sweet mustaches and mutton chops too.

  6. I completely agree with Eli. and I would also like to emphasize, Jarred is the best. THE best. He has taken every note after being asked once, and he is just really getting into the character and getting into the play.
I'm excited and nervous for running with videos and set. We need this to really pull everything together for the actors.

  7. I talked to the essokas this weekend they are trying to edit the film to have it ready by monday. However, we have yet to do the voiceovers (scheduling conflicts with Potorski) and we didn't film one commercial. Props we're good on as Gardineer is bringing the headset monday. My main concern is the actors not forgetting their cues once the filmed segments get put in.

  8. Ok. I read it all, and I think I keep on forgetting to ask this...I might have asked it already, and if I have sorry, but who would I inform about the fact that our play needs 7 PRACTICAL flashlights?!

Also, I am really excited to see our plays progress tomorrow, but also MAD nervous!

  9. Claire - sounds a bit late, but weren't the flashlights listed on your prop needs? I would think that you should let Alex know you need them...you may very well have to pick them up this week...

  11. @Kenny-May I suggest running your show and dimming the lights each time there is a clip so that the actors get ready for the lighting to cue them?
