Things keep getting done, which is great. Don't get frustrated with the process, understand the hard work that goes into the entire process... then keep yourselves motivated. The end is coming... you should be both excited and startled.
Gardineer get the props in! Or else...
Community day announcement.
Memorizing lines and acting are two different things. Now is the time to start enforcing both.
Challenge: make a slogan/ bumper sticker for the spring play.
I will be working with Erin and Chandler on their scene tomorrow and just remind the cast that they need to get their clothes in. IF THEY STILL NEED THEM ( such as school dress code) tell them to tell me and I will mark them down as "B.I.C.T.O.N" They will be known as the Bictons... and they are a new alien race, just kidding. other than that everything is dandy.
ReplyDeleteOh and the slogan... Hmmmm...
It hasn't happened yet but I would like it to be "because it's MY play"
slogan:
ReplyDeleteBoom. Enough said.
YEAH GARDINEER YOUR STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A PROPS APPRENTICE!!!
Slogan:
ReplyDelete16 Seniors. 3 Plays. 1 House.
You Do The Math.
the spring play slogan : "wait what's happening?"
ReplyDeletei took some notes on the run through for killing time and there are some areas that could use a little more ooomff. mike has them but hopefully i can talk to those actors tomorrow, because he probably had issues reading my handwriting. if he didn't, congratulations mike!
ps mike- what was that other youtube conversion site?
ReplyDeleteKate Testa: I use vidtomp3.com its pretty solid. I have noticed the memorizing lines issue. You start looking like a robot spitting out lines, staring into space, when you have spent too much time focusing on memorizing the lines. Acting is organic it is supposed to imitate real life in most situations. You just have to keep getting on your actors every time you encounter a situation such as the one Mr. Moore mentioned above. Some of my group has moments of this and the only thing that works thus far is drilling it into them until they learn to distinguish the two.
ReplyDeleteOh and also.... LIGHTBULB... if someone (a director) takes aside 2 people, or just a smaller group of people in your production, then another director should step in and work with the left over group so they don't get bored and start talking. Keep them busy like Mr. Moore said.
ReplyDeleteMost Epic Slogan EVER: Tough Love we all die someday!
ReplyDeleteGo to KFC!

oh and Mr. Moore, believe me. I am so EXCITED.
Maybe the actors, in order to act, should flesh out their characters. They should work together to become their characters. Create deeper back stories and stuff. I won't repeat what Amber said about costumes--read it!
ReplyDeleteSlogan: The only place you'll find reality tv, serial killers, and a goldfish.
Slogan: Spring Play 2011: The scariest, realest, and cleanest thing ever to hit the black box.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow Fish Bowl finishes blocking! It's going to be a day of mayhem tomorrow in the best way. Fish Bowl directors will be on actors about acting like white on rice.
Kate: Type in "Keep Vid" on google. It's ithe first website that comes up.

Hi Justin! All of these comments sound great. I really agree about the acting and line memorization, and I will make sure that happens in our group.
ReplyDeleteSpring Play 2011: Our house may look clean, but it has some dirty little secrets. Why don't you come inside and find out?
Spring Play 2011: Action! Wait...cut what scene are we on?
