All the time.
Whether its today with practicing or in future rehearsals with character description, character building games, or coloring books...
Note: Ya'll should come up with a warm up schedule: who is leading it and what activity they will be doing. Last year it wasn't the smoothest part of the rehearsal and it wasn't the best way to start each rehearsal.
Professionalism, organization, and leadership is what is going to make this the smoothest running production. (And me not having to write every post twice)
In class tomorrow, we can make a list of games and who will lead warm ups every day.
ReplyDeleteAlso, someone in class needs to have email open and take notes on the random thoughts I spew out and send them to Jackie. She is missing a lot and I want to keep her in the loop better.
Mr. Moore you gave us hope at diner.... thank you <3
ReplyDeleteI think the casting is the only part we are goign to struggle with. Our group is working well for the most part. I sense little speed bumps ahead :)
I am so excited! I could not be more thrilled about the casting for our play! I could not believe how well all of our directors agreed on casting. Also, I thought that making trades for actors with the other groups was really easy and stress-free. I think everyone's working really well together so far. I wish I could be in class with you guys! Please do try to keep me in the loop!
ReplyDeleteI agree keeping them busy will be important. Idle time will leave them time to get in trouble or somebody's else's hair and cause them to take you lightly. Casting was good today but it is difficult selecting who is best for what role we have a plethora of solid female actresses and a shortage of solid male leads.
ReplyDeleteToday went decently, it could have run more smoothly in some parts but I believe that we jumped out of the 1 person taking 10 minutes into a more speedy process. I think the groups were really able to work together, compromise and make deals. My group, I feel, is mostly cast we just need to figure out a two more characters, and then I feel we will be ready to start. However, I agree with Amber I do see some debating and some bumpy spots down the road but overall the bumps will make us that much better!
ReplyDeleteYeah today was good. I was happy. I liked the casting.

P.S. Amber I want my Ipod bring it to class.
Casting took a little while, but the compromising has been working! It is going relatively smooth. I don't think the actual rehearsals will be as tough. Games are the best part of drama, and who doesn't enjoy building character?
ReplyDeleteYea i agree with everyone as well. Keeping all the cast busy is important. Im glad all of the casting is done and can't wait to get started with this process! Also, yes I love playing drama games so lets talk about it in class and go over what kind of games we can play and do with our actors.

I feel like we all are going to be extremely successful with the leadership aspect, with all of are experience in Pennington drama productions we can direct these actors professionally. The only thing we need to workout is organization, we need to be able to stay organized for us to be successful and we should constantly harp on organization
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything that precedes this post.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this post 100%. We should start doing warm-ups such as the clap, duck duck goose, tounge twisters, etc.
